BEST DEAL CONTINUES GREAT FAMILY TRADITION
Exciting to land a fourth Group 1 Victoria Derby with Best Deal.
He follows in the footsteps of Our Little General (2017), Act Now (2022) and Petracca (2023).
Best Deal hails from a great maternal family - going back to Hot Foot, which Peter Gleeson had throughout her breeding career.
She produced 10 winners, including Best Deal’s third dam Larrakeyah Lady.
Larakeyah Lady (11 wins) left nine winners, including Best Deal’s second dam Celebrity Ball.
Best Deal is one of three winners left by Starburst Girl.
We were rapt to produce the trifecta in the Derby with Some American second and Miki To Success third.
We also shared in the success of Steven Reid-trained NZ 3yo filly Coastal Babe in the G1 Victoria Oaks, with her spending her time in Australia in our stable.
We filled out the top three with Kiss and Showsomejoy.
It was also a massive thrill to see Mach Dan taking his earnings past $1million with a courageous third in the G1 Victoria Cup.
What a performer he’s been with 28 wins in 81 starts for now $1,099.935, and more to come.
There’s no respite for the stable.
We’re heading interstate again with Ward Dan Buddy, Oliver Dan and Renewal for NSW Breeders Challenge semi-finals at Menangle on Saturday night.
