A new career highlight with Bay of Biscay taking out the $2.1m TAB Eureka at Menangle on Saturday night (September 6) for slot holder Robert Watson (Soho Standardbreds) and a great bunch of owners.
It is another occasion when it’s hard to put all your feelings into words.
Emma summed it up at the trophy presentation:
“This horse means a lot to us - especially Clayton and his owners.
Clayton and (the late) Tom Hogan were really keen on him at the sales. This was really the one they wanted.
“He’s been a really special horse for Clayton. He’s never really left our side.
“All his owners love him.
“Hats off to Rob Watson for pulling the trigger early to take him (for The Eureka six months ago).”

The 4yo’s earnings now stand at $1,838,830 from 12 wins, seven seconds and two thirds in 25 starts.
We couldn’t have expected a better outcome in The Eureka with out four runners all putting in great efforts to finish in the top five with Fox Dan 2nd, Go Miki 4th and Miki To Success 5th.
Fox Dan’s earnings jump to $550,107.
WE’VE been able to top of the week with feature wins in the time-honoured Tatlow Stakes for 2yo colts and geldings at Melton, and the Tasmanian Derby-Oaks double at Hobart.
