As with many stables across the country the Queensland Winter Carnival is on the radar.

And right now a trip to the warmer climate in the north is on the cards for improving mare Von Art.

The NZ-bred 5yo has done a marvellous job since joining the stable earlier this year and had her first start for us at Launceston on April 16.

Von Art made it five wins for as many starts in mares company at Melton on Saturday night.

She lobbed on the leader’s back and then dashed home in the sprint lane in her fastest mile rate to date of 1:54.9.

Like A Wildfire was also an eye-catcher in winning the Italian Cup.

Having his first start since mid-April, he sat in the breeze before drawing away by 7.4m

He’s building some sort of record with 5 wins in 10 starts this season for career standings of 19 victories for $250,000.
