Major Delight and Act Now grabbed the headlines at the weekend.

A daughter of Bettors Delight, Major Delight stretched her unbeaten run to five in setting a new Australasian 1609m race record for two-year-old pacing fillies -  clocking 1:50.5 in a NSW Breeders Challenge semi-final at Menangle on Saturday night.

She took 1.3 seconds off the record by running 27.3, 29.2, 27.2 and 26.8.

Major Celebrity will contest the 2yo colts and gelding final after finishing second in a semi-final.

Act Now had his first win of the season by leading all the way in the G3 Maryborough Gold Cup on Sunday.

He was at his free-wheeling best as he held of Beyond Delight.

We also had a couple of stable newcomers, Hector and The Raconteur, salute at their first runs for us.
