Major Delight highlighted a big week on the track.

She took out the Jane Ellen Free-For-All for mares at Melton and then there were a couple of close missed at Albion Park on same night.

Bay Of Biscay went down by a neck in the G1 Queensland Derby and The Highlight Reel by a half head in G1 Protostar.

The Kingman backs up his Derby run at Albion Park this Saturday night.

There is no bigger news than the confirmed retirement from racing of champion mare Ladies In Red. What a career - 28 wins and7 seconds from 37 career starts for $1,096,480. Her wins included:

  • G1 Breeders Crown 2yo Fillies Final

  • G1 Victoria Oaks Final

  • G1 Breeders Crown 3yo Fillies Final

  • G1 Vicbred Super Series 3yo Fillies Final

  • G1 Queensland Rising Sun

  • G1 Queen of the Pacific (twice)

What more can you say? We’ve loved every minute of it.

We have had a busy time at trials. We took 14 to Bendigo on Monday night, including unraced 2yo gelding Arsenio (by Stay Hungry), unraced 2yo filly Brighton (Downbytheseaside) and High Above.

We backed up with another 14 at Melton on Tuesday, including unbeaten 2yo filly Let Her Roll, Balboa Rock and Idyllic on the comeback trail
