Tasmania has been home away from home this season and we continue our journey on the Apple Isle at Launceston on Saturday night.

Once again we’re taking on the Easter Cup feature meeting.

Doesn’t that bring back some great memories of a year ago when we won nine of the 10 races.

This time we have runners in eight event on the 10-race card, headed up by Wheres The Gold (20m) and Like A Wildfire (30m) in the $75,000 Ladbrokes Easter Cup, 2698m.

We won with Longfellow last year, with Like A Wildfire second.

Wheres The Gold has won his past five starts - all in Tassie - while Like A Wildfire is coming off wins in the Horsham Cup and an Easter Cup heat.

Our other runners in Launceston:

RENEWAL: American Ideal 2yo filly making her race debut.

SET ABLAZE: 5yo racing for the first time since March, 2021.

IDEALROCKIDEALROLL: has had three wins from latest four starts, all in Tasmania.

RICH BEAUTY: has joined the team in Tassie for the first time.

LAVROTTO BEACH: last-start Launceston winner.

ZEUS DAN: returns to Tasmania after winning at Launceston two starts ago.

MAJOR GRACE: unbeaten in five starts since arriving from NZ. Past four wins in Tasmania, including George Johnson final.

We’ll also have an eye on feature at Melton and Wagga. On Saturday night.

In the Riverina, Soho Historia tackles the $100,000 Riverina Championships Mare final after a first-up win in heat.

Here’s our feature line-up at Melton:

TEQUILA DELIGHT: Alabar Vicbred Platinum Home Classic Final for 3yo fillies.

GAWN and COMPETE (emergency): Alabar Vicbred Platinum Home Classic Final for 3yo colts/geldings.

BAY OF BISCAY: Shakamaker 2yo Classic.

ENCIPHER: Blossom Lady.

Reflecting on the past week, what a run by Cant Top This to take out the Ararat Pacing Cup on Friday night.

He now leads the Victorian Country Cups Championship, having also scored in the Charlton Cup.
