We’ve done it! We won our first NSW Oaks.

The Peter Gleeson-bred Very Pretty was far too good for her rivals - scoring by 12.7m in the $200,000 feature at Menangle to stretch her unbeaten run to eight and give her a second group 1.

Very Pretty is the latest chapter in the great story of her grand dam and grand-producing mare  Larrakeyah Lady.

What a dynasty she has created and we have been fortunate to be a part of that with the likes of The Good Times (Very Pretty’s dam) and another of her offspring Major Times.

It was also pleasing to see Major Delight bounce back to winning form in a support event at Menangle.

What a record the 4yo mare has - 18 wins from 23 starts.

The season is trekking along nicely.

Emma has had 36 wins at a strike rate of 39%.

Clayton has 21 at 49%.

He’s fast closing in on his career best season tally of 29 back in 2003-04.
