Congratulations to Cover Of Darkness on being named the 2020 Victorian Square Trotters Association 3yo male trotter of the year.

Another thrill for everyone involved with the entire, which in his 3yo season – his first on the track - won eight of nine starts.

The announcement on Sunday night came after a quiet week of racing.

We had just the three starters but still managed to get a double at Ballarat on Thursday night.

Ladies In Red marked her return by taking out the time-honored AJ Prendergast Memorial Oaks Trial in her first outing as a 3yo.

It’s the start of a big campaign which everyone is looking forward to.

Star Celebrity won on debut as a 2yo. The daughter of Always B Miki is the second winner out of Celebrity Guest, making her a half-sister to Go Dancing.

In addition, we did have a big turnout of 22 runners at the Ballarat trials on Tuesday.

WEEK IN REVIEW

1st Star Celebrity (Allan McDonough): Woodlands Stud 2yo Pace, 1710m (1:55.5), at Ballarat on Thursday, September 2. Led, running home in 27.6 and 27.6sec. Congratulations to breeder Peter Gleeson, who races the filly in partnership with Clayton.

1st Ladies In Red (David Moran): AJ Prendergast Memorial Oaks Trial, 2200m (1:57), at Ballarat on Thursday, September. Worked three wide to park outside the leader before doing as she liked in running away by 11.9m. Just a small sample of what’s to come. Congratulations to Lauriston Bloodstock.
