Mach Dan showed his staying prowess to captured the group 2 $60,000 Mildura Pacing Cup on Saturday, April 10.

Greg Sugars put his outside leader Silent Major with 1600m (two laps) to run and then dug deep when it counted to score by a head after the last 800m was run in 27.8 and 28.9 seconds.

The Mach Three four-year-old has 14 wins – including an unbeaten run of five this season - in 24 starts and has taken his earnings to $304,000.

A big congratulations to owners Danny and Joanne Zavitsanos, and Warren Viney.

Like A Wildfire also carried the stable colours to third in the Cup.

Mach Dan capped a big Mildura Cup Carnival for the stable, with a treble of the first night on Tuesday, April 6, and a double on Cup night.

Mach Dan also won a Cup heat, while Krafty Bart also won each night.

We now have a combined 48 winners for the season – Emma with 42 and Clayton six.

1st Krafty Bart (Kate Gath) – Tenderprint Australia Cup final, 2910m (1:58.8), at Mildura on Saturday, April 10. Led and with a last 800m in 56.9sec went away by 7.8m.

1st Petillante (Chris Alford) – Catanach’s Jewellers 2yo Pace, 1720m (1:56.6), at Melton on Thursday, April 8. Win on debut for this Somebeachsomewhere-Art de Triomphe filly. Art de Triomphe is a full sister to multiple group 1 winner and successful sire Follow The Stars.

1st Cant Top This (Connor Clarke) – IRT Australia Pace, 1720m (career-best 1:54.9), at Melton on Thursday, April 8. Made it two on end and completed a driving double for Connor Clarke.

1st Krafty Bart (Kate Gath) – Tenderprint Australia Cup heat, 2910m (1:58), at Mildura on Tuesday, April 6. Made it two wins in a row after facing the breeze.

1st Mach Dan (Greg Sugars) – Mildura Pacing Cup heat, 2600m (1:59.6), at Mildura on Tuesday, April 6. Found the lead and always in control from there.

1st Carlas Mach (Kath Gath) - Tenderprint Australia Cup heat, 2910m (career-best 1:56.3), at Mildura on Tuesday, April 6. Tough effort by this four-year-old, drawing away by 12m after facing the breeze.
