We had some mixed fortunes at the Bathurst Crown Carnival, but 2yo filly Ripples kept the stable flag flying.

The NZ-bred daughter of Bettors Delight captured the Group 1 Bathurst Gold Tiara Final on Saturday night (March 29).

Having won her heat on debut 10 days earlier, she put in a huge effort to salute after sitting three wide for the best part of a lap and then facing the breeze before grinding it out.

Exciting to see Susan Is Her Name make an impressive return to racing at Melton on Saturday, rating 1:57.9.

It was her first race start since September and eighth career win in 14 starts, having started her racing in Queensland before heading south to the heartland of trotting.

She was part of a treble for us at Melton, which also featured another trotter Harold Smith, which came off 20m, and Apollostorm, which broke through for his first win.

WE’RE rolling out the big numbers in the Nutrien Equine Classic Series heats for 3yos and 2yos at Melton on Friday (April 4).
