Lightning Dan is through to the group 1 $100,000 Bathurst Gold Crown final for 2yo colts/geldings at Bathurst next Saturday.

Having just his second race start after winning his debut at Horsham, Lightning Dan worked his way to the lead in the second heat at Bathurst on Friday.

He scored by 5m, rating 1:57.9

1st LIGHTNING DAN (Amanda Turnbull) – Bathurst Gold Crown heat for 2yo colts/geldings, 1730m (1:57.9), at Bathurst on Friday, March 19. Still learning the caper, but once he straightens it is all business. Showed some real toughness after having to work three-wide from his outside draw.

1st TECHYS ANGEL (Kate Gath) - group 3 Economix Jodies Babe for mares, 1720m (career-best 1:52.3), at Melton on Friday, March 19. First-up since the end of December. Led and untroubled.

The 4yo mare now has eight wins (four since joining our team) from 18 starts.
