Weekly Wrap | 28 March 2021
Big thrill to have Idyliic land his first group 1 victory in the $100,000 Bathurst Gold Chalice for 3yo colts/geldings, 1730m on Saturday night.
The son of Somebeachsomewhere also provided Clayton with his second group 1 success.
Idyllic found the lead from gate five, but had no rest in front as he produced a sustained display of speed – running 27.9, 28.8, 28.8 and 27.4 to score by a head in 1:52.9.
He becomes the second group 1 winner bred by Bruce and Vicki Edward (Durham Park) out of US-bred mare Ideal Priority, joining his full sister Petacular.
