We have one of the biggest weeks of the year ahead of us.


There's been a week of heats and now it is time for some rich finals at Bendigo next Saturday night.
We will have four runners in the group 1 $200,000 Victoria Derby - Major Moth (1st in heat), Ideal Dan (3rd), Act Now (1st) and Longfellow (4th).
And then there'll be five starters in the group 1 $150,000 Victoria Oaks - Beach Music (1st in heat), Platinum Sparkle (2nd), Ladies In Red (1st), Joanna (2nd), Treachery (5th).
The Derby and Oaks barrier draws will take place on Monday night.
We will also have a strong representation in the Alabar Vicbred Platinum Home Grown Classic 2yo finals after heats at Ballarat on Friday night.
Congratulations also go to Allan McDonough, who has Blitzern in the Vic Derby final after taking out a heat with Bailey in the cart.

WEEK IN REVIEW
1st FIAMMA (Kate Gath): Alabar Vicbred Platinum Home Grown Classic 2yo fillies heat, 1710m (1:54.7), at Ballarat on Friday, October 1. First run since late May. Found lead at her fourth start and picked up her second win. Congratulations to the Johnson family at Atworthy Park.

1st OUR MILLIONAIRE (Kate Gath): Ballarat Vet Practice Pace, 2200m (1:56.7), at Ballarat on Friday, October 1. A 5yo entire, he showed the benefit of a first outing in a year to bring up his 11th win in 26 starts. Congratulations to R Sharp, M Power, T Power, A Power, M Fedoruk, D M Bell, P Cariss, L Harris and A Ilievski.

1st RICH BEAUTY (David Moran): Alabar Vicbred Platinum Home Grown Classic 2yo fillies heat, 1710m (career-best 1:57.3), at Ballarat on Friday, October 1. Made it two from two. Has obviously inherited some ability from her mother, classic-winning Beauty Secret. Congratulations to Peter Gleeson and Clayton.

1st ABOUTTIME (David Moran): DNR Logistics Pace, 1650m (1:53.9), at Bendigo on Saturday, October 2. Hasn't the Lauriston Bloodstock-bred 5yo come back well for Dan Zavitsanos and Warren Viney. He won first-up at Ballarat since October last year and was even better in the performance at Lords Raceway after moving up three wide. Has now earned more than $100,000.

1st MAJOR MOTH (Damian Wilson): Lather Up Victoria Derby heat, 2650m (2:00.1), at Bendigo on Saturday, October 2. Took it to a new level, leading and then putting the race away in the last 100m. Getting better with every start. Ran last 800m in 54.5 and last 400m in 26.6. Now winner of eight of 12 starts. Congratulations to the Parkers.

1st ACT NOW (Jodi Quinlan): Lather Up Victoria Derby heat, 2650m (1:57.5), at Bendigo on Saturday, October 2. Swept to the lead with 2000m to run and was never going to do anything but win. The longer the race went, the stronger the colt became. That's two on end for career standings of nine wins in 20 starts. Congratulations to Bruce and Vicki Edward - breeders and owners.

1st BEACH MUSIC (David Moran): Pryde's Easifeed Victoria Oaks heat, 2650m (1:58.1), at Bendigo on Saturday, October 2. She made three wins in a row, racing away by 10m with her last 800m in 55.4sec. Another Oaks final after finishing third in NSW. Congratulations to Bill and Anne Anderson from Lauriston Bloodstock as breeders and owners.

1st LADIES IN RED (David Moran):  Pryde's Easifeed Victoria Oaks heat, 2650m (1:58.1), at Bendigo on Saturday, October 2. The daughter of Mach Three led and controlled the race with last 800m in 54.7sec. That's three out of three this season for 12 wins from 13 starts for earnings just shy of $300,000. clean sweep in the Oaks heats for Bill and Anne Anderson.
