TSR WEEKLY WRAP | 1 NOV 202

Five wins at Swan Hill on Friday night and another two at Melton on Saturday night.

We need just one more for 150 for the season and it will be seventh year in a row we have achieved this feat.

Among those to score in the past week, three tasted success in their young careers -  Captain Rival, Hughman on debut and Anothertbigman.

We also had a one-two-three finish in the group 2

4yo/5yo Championship at Melton with stable newcomer Honolua Bay leading home  Out To Play and Our Millionaire.

WEEK IN REVIEW

1st CAPTAIN RIVAL (David Moran): MIXXFM 2yo Maiden Pace, 1750m (1:56.4), at Swan Hill on Friday, October 29. Impressed in his first two starts with seconds in a heat and final of the Vicbred Platinum Home Grown Classic. Found the lead on this occasion and put the race away in closing stages. Ran last 800m in 55.7. He’s by Captaintreacherous and out of Bettors Delight mare Delight In Decree, which won 7 races and has left winners, all bred y Les Johnson. Congratulations to the Atworthy Park Group.

1st HUGHMAN (David Moran): 3SH 3yo Maiden Pace, 1750m (1:57.3), at Swan Hill on Friday, October 29. Cannot do any better than win on debut. Hughman is by Sweet Lou and first foal out of Dream Away mare Douyourselfafavour. Congratulations to the Carey family.

1st FARADY HANOVER US (Connor Clarke): Central Murray Live Pace, 1750m (1:54.3), at Swan Hill on Friday, October 29. This makes three wins for the Somebeachsomewhere 3yo filly since being imported from the US by Bruce Edward. This was her first outing since late July. Ran last 800m in 55.5sec.

1st IDEAL DAN (Kate Gath): 3SH Morning Rush Pace, 2240m (1:58.9), at Swan Hill on Friday, October 29. The American Ideal 3yo colt did it pretty much on his own terms, leading from the pole. Gave nothing else a chance by running home in 54.6sec. in his first run since contesting the Vic Derby final. He’s building a nice record with 6 wins from 21 starts Congratulations to owner-breeder Danny Zavitsanos.

1st BEYOND DELIGHT (Greg Sugars): MIXXFM Morning Crew Pace, 2240m (1:59.1), at Swan Hill on Friday, October 29. In front was the place to be on Friday night. The 3yo colt lobbed there to make it 5 wins in 7 starts. He’s out of NZ-bred Whatahottie (6 wins), which has had two foals to the races for two winners. He’s raced by Clayton.

1st ANOTHERBIGMAN (Chris Alford): 2yo Vicbred Pace, 2240m (1:57.4) at Melton on Wednesday, October 27. He’s been raw, but this was a well-deserved breakthrough after some promising efforts, including two seconds in his first two starts. Congrats to his big group of owners Sue Murray, Racing Group No.2, John Anderson Group No.3, E Crews, RJ Letch, Odd Man Out Group, A C Shelly, Kennedy Murray Racing Group, CBW Racing Group, SJ Watt, H Geraldene, GN McNulty and C Barrett.

1st HONOLUA BAY (David Moran): 4yo/3yo Championship, 2240m (1:53.6), at Melton on Saturday, October 30. Now that was some sort of win, first up for the stable. It was a matter of the real Honolua Bay standing up, leading and clocking 54.9sec to close out. He hadn’t raced since May. That’s 10 wins in 17 starts and now $117,000 in earnings for the 4yo gelding by Somebeachsomewhere bred and races by Lauriston Bloodstock. His dam National Galley NZ has quite a record, with Rocknroll Icon (1:53, 16 wins) and Mach Up (1:53, 13 wins) among her other winners.

1st LONGFELLOW (Ellen Bartley): Woodlands Stud The Graduate for 3yos, 2240m (career-best 1:54.7), at Melton on Saturday, October 29. The improved colt followed up his outstanding third in the Victoria Derby by making the most of a run of the race behind the leader. Congratulations to Aaron Bain Racing, Summit Bloodstock Syndicate, BJ Yole, and Emma.
